We're bringing the mountains to London!

Join us on 2-3 May 2020 at the Royal Geographical Society for the first-ever London Mountain Film Festival. With speakers from across the mountaineering and adventure spheres, exhibitions, stalls, food and drink, exciting activities, book signings, and multiple mountain and adventure film screenings across both days, there's something for everyone - whether you are a conqueror of Everest or a complete outdoors novice.

Whichever four-hour visiting session you choose, you will have two hours in the Festival Rooms listening to talks, experiencing fun attractions, meeting authors, and tucking into mountains of refreshments! This will be followed by a further two hours in the main theatre where you will be shown a selection of films chosen by your keynote speaker for that session.

You'll hear from the likes of:

  • Doug Scott
  • Sean Conway
  • Mel Nicholls
  • Chris Bonington
  • Pete Whittaker
  • Mick Fowler
  • Anna McNuff
  • Jenny Tough
  • Hazel Findlay
  • Dave Cornthwaite
  • Fiona Quinn
  • Vassos Alexander
  • Katy Parrott
  • Laura Kennington

🡪 and many more!

London has been a centre of adventure for centuries. The absence of mountains and the various ways in which they impact the landscape and culture have only served to drive the need for exploration and adventure even more. This Mountain Festival of the South is the latest chapter in London's rich adventurous history, in which the stories come to us - so that we may go and make our own.
